MethodK Learning Design was built on the belief that strong academic outcomes come from structured, intentional learning.
I work with students and families to close foundational gaps, build confidence, and create systems that lead to long-term academic success.
🌱Who I Am
I've spent years inside the world of education — as a student, tutor, a mentor, a coach, and freelance consultant. After moving to the DMV area, what started as private tutoring quickly turned into something bigger: a desire to approach tutoring from a carefully designed and tested structure.
Over time, I saw these consistent needs:
- Parents who need a tutor that can support their child’s academic growth beyond simple grade improvement
- Students who want to learn how to be independent, capable and confident managing their studies
- Tutors and educators who want to feel fully prepared and confident before working with students
MethodK Learning Design was born from that gap. I built this platform to help both students and educators experience what intentional, meaningful learning really looks like.
Experience That Shaped MethodK
Academic Foundation
Graduated Summa Cum Laude — B.S. Information Science, concentration in Computer Science & Math (UNC Greensboro)
Built a strong academic foundation in information behavioral research, data management, mathematical abstraction and conceptual mastery of scientific principles. I intentionally spent time understanding how I best learn and then began shaping an early understanding of how students learn best.
Teaching & Instruction
Led Teen and Young Adult Academic Support Programs + Student Development Initiatives
Designed and led Supplemental Instruction programs and large group tutoring programs for the Chemistry and Math Departments throughout my tenure at UNCG. These programs helped students build clarity, independence, and long-term learning skills.
Research & Scholarship
STEM Scholar - U.S. Department of Defense (SMART Program)
Awarded a highly competitive national STEM scholarship and applied this training to research in learning strategy, instructional design, and academic systems.

Fun Fact: The term "k method" can refer to several different mathematical or engineering concepts, but most commonly it refers to a substitution technique used to solve equations, particularly those involving repeated expressions or exponents. It's also used in the context of finding the equation of a line passing through the intersection of two other lines.
