Flipping Flashcards First
๐ HUNTING ZONE A โ The Decimal Slide
Decimals โ Percents
Fractions, decimals, and percents are simply different representations of the same value.
To switch between decimals and percents, you don't do any difficult math.
You simply slide the decimal point exactly two places.
Decimal โ Percent
Slide the decimal point 2 places RIGHT, then add the percent sign.
Examples
Percent โ Decimal
Slide the decimal point 2 places LEFT, then remove the percent sign.
Examples
๐ง Reese Scavenger Task 1 โ The Slide Check
Study the examples above.
Question 1A
When converting
to a percent, how many places does the decimal move?
๐ Answer: [ A ] places
Question 1B
If you convert
to a decimal, which direction does the decimal move?
๐ Answer: To the [ B ]
Action 1C
Slide the decimal point to complete the conversion.
๐ HUNTING ZONE B โ The Division Gate
Fractions โ Decimals
To convert any fraction into a decimal,
treat the fraction bar exactly like a division sign.
Divide:

๐ HUNTING ZONE C โ The Uniform Strategy
Comparing & Ordering
๐ซ Critical Law
Never compare numbers that are wearing different outfits.
If a problem mixes:
- fractions
- decimals
- percents
convert everything into decimals first.
Three-Step Sorting Strategy
1๏ธโฃ Convert
Convert every value into a decimal.
2๏ธโฃ Compare
Compare the decimal values.
3๏ธโฃ Rewrite
Write your final answer using the original forms from the question.
๐ง Reese Scavenger Task 3 โ The Sorting Check
Order the following from least to greatest.
Question 3A
What decimal does
represent?
๐ Answer: [ F ]
Question 3B
The correct order is
Why is the answer written as
instead of
?
๐ Answer
Because we always write our final answer using the [ G ] forms given at the beginning of the problem.
